Yvette Hoppen is a Melbourne composer, music teacher and multi-instrumentalist with a B.A. in music composition.

She studied traditional West African percussion, dance, choreography and instrument making in Bamako, Mali with national ballet troupe ‘Mande Percussion” for over 2 1/2 years.

She has performed live on dun-dun, djembe, drum kit, bass and acoustic guitar and has performed extensively with grand master percussionist, Mady Keita for the past 14 years.

Yvette has taught at various spots including Swinburne Uni and Holmesglen, and currently teaches at Community Houses around Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula.

And has been involved with community music projects including ‘Grounded’ refugee project and Sound Central Music Festival in Afghanistan, offering music and artistic direction.

Yvette is interested in being involved with music projects that include world music fusion,  shamanic music / dance and community vibes.
